Use Holtek's encoder and decoders, they are very versatile and remove most of the burden from your microcontroller.........

Just google a bit for HT12D and HT12E based circuits and you will get some very easy circuits which work fine for 4-bit parallel transfer

i saw a toy but it had only two function up and down. i need to send at least 8bits to my robot.

For 8-bit parallel transfer you will need HT640 and HT648l pair.... If you get hold of these ICs then a very small circuit is required to get the remote control going..........

so this is what i understood till now,
you have one antenna for transmitting and one antenna for receving, two ics for enconding and decoding the signal. how to put all this together

how to put all this together
refer the datasheet and its application notes...

u said tat u want atleast 8 bits.....
means r u trying to control 256 actuating signals on ur robot????

    Hi,
You can always use standard solutions for making a wireless comunication between your PC and robot, it only depends on the sophistication you desire.

If you need only one sided communication, then you can use a transmitter reciever pair of say 433 MHz. If you need bidirectional then use two pairs of different frequencies.

Designing an RF cicuit of your own is a heavy dose if you require good reception.

If you require more then just a wireless communcation mediums, like protocols and more than tell me.
