    Default wireless car

    hi,
    Why a wireless controlled CAR??

    what you need:
    1. A car, steerable left , right, so a steering mechanism. May be differential steering to make things simple.
    2. A wireless Remote control. ie., Transmitter and receiver module.
    3. serial to parallel converter logic/microcontroller.
    4. A truth table/ matrix of the anticipated action bits, for both TX and RX.
    5. A keypad for the above actions.
    6. Suitable motors,. calculated for torque/Rpm/ size/ cost/ availability.
    7. A Motor drive interface
    8. Some down-to-earth battery pack ( not a 7ah bike or 40ah car)
    9. A platform to hold all these weird things together.
    10. Money to spare.
    11. Time to spend.
    12. Patience, to face snide remarks from people like me.
    13. Purpose, which usually is thought of after it is working but should have been at no. 1.
    14. Some blood, a llittle sweat and a lot of tears.
    15. Lots of luck.
    16. All of the above, at any given instant point of time.

i am now working with a robo with differencial steering mechanism .It is simple.but the accurcy is very poor. The reason is the fact, "the motors having same specifications are not same". They have actually different power and torque. So the robo may shows deviations from the path....

I suggest u to go to the china market and buy a toy remote jeep..
The cost will be around 700/-. you can learn many things from that piece. Also some uses ackermann steering mechanism !!!

    Default ackermann

    hi jabir,
Why drag Ackermann into this simple R/C car. School kids are making these cars along with simple homebrew R/C without the help of Mr. ackermann.

Motors of the same make are almost similar. Buy 2 motors new, not 1 new 1 old. Equalise the current to the motors and they will run parallel and true.

Lets KISS before we draw high funda theory that wont help anyone. And please dont confuse newcomers with these high funda. This is what will result: http://roboticsindia.com/modules.php...ewtopic&t=1430
 read the 3rd post carefully.

Differential Steering could also mean 2 motors driving two wheels. A simple Boolean will give you redundant/ true control bits. This will translate into simple english as Left wheel 1motor, Right Wheel 1 motor.
    Left ON Right ON =Fwd.
Left off, Right On = LEft turn.
LEft on, Right off= Right turn.
OR: Left Rev+ Right Fwd = Right spin turn,
    Left FWD+ Right REV= Left spin Turn.......etc

    Why ackerman???
If you buy it , why should you lkearn and why should you DO it?

 KISS= Keep It Simple Stupid.

    Default Ackremann

    Hi docel

Acully i dont suggest the ackremann, it is very complex in practice..

i just want to show the sophisticated technical design of that chinease toy...ops:

    anyway,sorry man....

    Default ACKERMAN

    Hi jabir,
No need jabir. It is just that some big names may be scary to a new comer. Or he will go around finding out this and that and forget the basic question itself. I have tried to make the thing simple and complex at the same time, just to proove a point.
A lot of theory will sometimes mask the common sense
